This error is likely caused by low memory and python not getting enough to allocate objects, so handling this might not even be possible. Also it seems like the error happened in the python dbus library and during a search (as query () is called by deskbar-applet when searching).

It seems like there is not enough memory for python to run, from python and the tracker-module (that has close to no data anyhow), I cannot do anything about this.

According to python experts, its not possible to handle this situation as its likely you have very low memory available

Hi Scott.

I am the python programmer 'in charge' ;). The problem may be related
to not enough memory, but it could also be a corrupt RAM module in
your machine. Anyways, there is no sane way one can handle a
MemoryError from python itself, as the handling is likely to raise
more of these same errors.

I hope that makes it clear that there is no good way of targeting this
problem from the tracker handler. Please don't feel discouraged to
report bug ;)!

If you have any questions, feel free to voice them,

kind regards, Marcus Fritzsch

my bug got assigned to this here and I don't think that it's related to my memory. Memtest ran for hours without complainig and I have 2gig ram, which should be enough for creating a simple tracker search request with a few characters.

Hi,

I am using Hardy in DELL XPS M1330 with 2G RAM and 2.2 Core 2 processor and 800Mhz FSB and I guess, memory might not be a problem for this error (I ain't an expert so it's up to you guys). This happened in Gutsy too, anyway I don't use deskbar-applet much, so I am not the most affected person. But yeah, I've started digging into the code and 'if' I find anything I will let you guys know.

Adios Amigos, Keep up the good work :)
