clearlooks keep cxrashing

Well, I am not even sure that the problem is clearlooks. It might be gtk itself. Can't you just switch temporarily to clearlooks and see if it crashes for you after 1 minute when opening new gnome windows and tell me for sure if its clearlooks or gtk?

ok, i found the culprit. The Clearlooks engine crashes because of my ~.gtkrc-2.0 code (specifically, the bits about the tooltips):

This piece of code WORKS with all other theme engines, but it crashes with the LATEST clearlooks (it worked fine until very recently). I call this a new clearlooks engine bug.

Still an issue with latest updates?

No, Clearlooks still crashes when the above of "clearlooks-tooltips" exists in the ~.gtkrc-2.0. This didn't used to happen.

There have been many changes in Ubuntu since that time you reported the bug and your problem may have been fixed with some of the updates. If you could test the current Ubuntu development version, this would help us a lot. If you can test it, and it is still an issue, we would appreciate if you could upload updated logs by running apport-collect <bug #>, and any other logs that are relevant for this particular issue.
