desktop gnome not appears

Bug Description

after login into gdm, i see orange screen and after 5 o 10 minutes, desktop appears. (Ubuntu 7.10 gutsy, upgraded today)

Hi there,
Could you please attach the Xorg log file, lspci -vvnn output and xorg.conf file, if you can test this with and without "desktop effects" activated would be of great help.

i tested this with and without "desktop effects", same result. sorry for multiple post about xorg.log. i have some problem with my internet connection.
