Partitioning Programm/Gparted does'nt work

Bug Description

Binary package hint: gparted

Gutsy Gibbon 7.10 Alpha5 Live Cd:
Partitioning-programm (Gparted) shows "scanning for devices" but does'nt find any, neither that one integrated in the install-programm, it freezes @ 46% wile scanning for hdd's. In the matter of facts I'm unable to proceed the installation.

I tested it with the Gutsy RC today, and the problem was not resolved.

How can I help you to resolve this problem?

Thanks for this bug report.

In order to get needed informations to find the cause of that bug, can you launch gparted from a terminal and copy the output from the terminal here in that bug report? This could give relevant data which will help. If Gparted seems to infinitely scan your hard drive, please let it scanning for more than 20 minutes as some outputs could appear on the terminal only after that time will be elapsed.

Since this bug did not have answers during a long time, I set the status to invalid but please change the status to "new" if you can still reproduce the bug and provide needed information. Thanks for your contribution to ubuntu.
