Bug Description

Hey. Just moved to another country. Which means that i'm a 1 hour behind where i originally config'd ubuntu. I use the calender in evolution and added birthdays etc. Now, when i adjusted the timezone -1 hour all birthdays, when i push the clock shows up a day before it really is. In evolution it is on the right date but not out in ubuntu... What to do?

You should ask question in forum or in IRC instead of reporting them as bugs. Probably your date setting are incorrect.

Well... I guess you could say that the date setting are incorrect.. But really it's not.

Birthdays added to the contacts in evolution when being in my native country is after moving to another country and changing the timezone in ubuntu (nothing else than that). These has now change to a day before the actual birthday because i moved a timezone back -1. This is off course a bug as the birthday should still be the same date..

You get my point?

@cyfer -- thank you for your bug report, and sorry it took so long for us to get to it. This is a known issue on up-to-date Evolution-Data-Server, and I am marking it as such.

Recently this has been brought up to the forefront in the evolution-hackers mailing list, and we can hope we will have a solution soon.

Basically, what happens is existing calendar entries are not updated on a timezone change (or an equivalent daylight change); currently pretty much the only option is a manual adjustment of each entry -- which is not even near been an optimal bypass --.

There are many reported bugs in LP (few) and bugzilla (many) dealing with this, either fully or partially matching your situation. Since I have not yet found a good existing previous bug as an exact match on LP, I am accepting yours, and setting an affects to the upstream bug (http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=301363).
