Bug Description
As mentioned in bug #1418060, we should discuss + upstream the QML cache patch and how it fits into upstream's plan. "ContributingToQt" wiki page describes in summary how to get register and get familiar with http://
The deadline for this task being done is in around June/July when Qt 5.6 will go into feature freeze.

The QML cache patch has been discussed with upstream during the Autumn. It will not be upstreamed as it is currently but talks/development will continue on future approaches.
