Bug Description

if your pc's sound is mute, you cannot click the "mute button".it works well on ubuntu,but didnot work on mate

I can't reproduce this. Pressing the Mute button mutes my audio.

maybe there are some package needs to be installed,while you click, it will show "Gtk-CRITICAL **: gtk_render_frame_gap: assertion 'xy0_gap >= 0' failed" in terminal

i install mate by unity desktop
