Bug Description

Binary package hint: audacious

Because I simply hate the default skins of audacious, but I like audacious too, I want an other skin more winamp 2 like (black and squared) in the default skins embedded .

Hi,

Would something like http://people.atheme.org/~nenolod/refugee-theme.wsz
do? It's an audacious branded version of the old XMMS skin with some
changes to make it use the same features as the default skins.

If so, I can put it in the next Audacious release!

Yes this theme is perfect (I think that kHz, Kbps and mono stereo will be added to this skin for the release) , the next release will be perfect and actually can fully replace xmms for me :)

adding a system to change the skin at all change of song (like xmms) can be a good new feature.

With the latest stable release (of ubuntu gutsy) I also have a problem with the Equalizer, resolved by last Hg version ...

Good luck for the next release you can change the world, and making me changing definitively to audacious (the last hg version is miraculous ! (thank you for gnome shortcut !) )

Hey great work, thanks so much!

though I'm still sort of irked at the fact that the folks here at canonical are forcing us to use audacious rather than XMMS now...there aren't enough themes for audacious.

The default skins for Audacious 1.5.1 (via Ubuntu 8.10) are still awful -- low contrast with microscopic control markings -- causing eyestrain and frustration.

All furthe developmentr of XMMS is reported to have been abandoned, as of several years ago; that's why Canonical dropped it from Ubuntu distributions. However, Audacious can use Winamp 2.x "Classic" skins (.wsz files) without problems; just copy them into the Audacious skins directory (/usr/share/audacious/Skins). You can also open .wsz archives with any program that can manage .zip archives, since .wsz files are simply .zip files that have been renamed, and put the files contained in that archive into a subdirectory under the Audacious skins directory, giving it the name your would like that skin to have. Although it's a bit hard to find, an archive of the Winamp 2.9 "Classic" skin is available that can be used in Audacious without modification, or the .bmp graphics elements can be edited to take out references to Winamp, plus other customization as one might choose to perform. Search the Web for a file named "baseskin29x.wsz"
