LENGTHY SUMMARY:
I upgraded to Gutsy last night, and one of the first changes I noticed was that my usual habit of typing "apti" and then TAB-completing to aptitude - and then being able to type update or upgrade or install or whatever - has been disrupted. There are now two new binaries that begin with the word "aptitude-" (aptitude-
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
(Trying to install package foo)
Open a terminal, type "apti", then hit TAB, and then type "in", then hit TAB again, then package name (foo). You end up with "aptitudeinfoo".

Thanks for taking the time to report this issue. Though this might be hard to work with this is not a bug in aptitude. Tab-completion is a method of showing possible targets. So if there are programs with names like this they need to be showed. If this is really too hard for you, you could create an alias for aptitude in your shell configuration.
