4 corner icons not in the correct locations

Ubuntu: 7.10
Resolution: 1680 x 1050

The right 2 icons of the 4 corner icons are not in the correct location. They are about 60% of the distance to the right corner. It might have something to do with my wide screen monitor.

I also noticed my login page does not look correct. It looks like it is setting my monitor resolution very low because I see the normal image but it is zoomed in. The username field is almost not visable along the bottom and I can not read Ubuntu across the top. This could be a different issue but it seems related to me.
