Bug Description
Using Ambient-MATE theme right-click on desktop and select "Create Launcher...". Window background is dark and text is so faint it's hard to see it (see screenshot in attachment).

It seems that there is a problem in /usr/share/
That fix helps me to change launcher colors back to normal:
$ diff mate-panel.rc mate-panel.rc.old
20c20
