xserver crash when using displayconfig-gtk causing error "EnterVT failed for screen 0"

Bug Description
I just tried this:
System-
*ooh shiny*
Clicked Screen 2
Clicked 'Secondary SCreen'
Clicked 'Test'
Waited while my LCD went completely black, console, to black a few
times. Then got a login screen.
Logged in, and poked around a little - not a test session, my main
session had just been violated in unpleasant ways and existing X clients
had died.
Xorg.0.log.old and lspci -vvn attached, I presume thats the key thing to
grab.

Found in the Xorg.0.log file:
(II) AIGLX: Resuming AIGLX clients after VT switch
(WW) intel(0): xf86AcquireGART: AGPIOC_ACQUIRE failed (Device or resource busy)
Fatal server error:
EnterVT failed for screen 0
