ubiquity installer crashes during partition and fails to install yaboot

Bug Description

When I to install MATE along side my current Linux distribution the installer crashes during the partition phase. I see ubiquity at 40% and Xorg at 40% in top.

It looks like there may be an issue with the hard disk or partition located at /dev/sda:

I was to install when I chose the erase the entire disk option. However when I did yaboot failed to install and I could not boot into my system.

The mate isos are currently missing the yaboot package. This is stopping yaboot-installer working and consequently crashing ubiquity.

This release of Ubuntu is no longer receiving maintenance updates. If this is still an issue on a maintained version of Ubuntu please let us know.
