Bug Description

Binary package hint: linux-image-2.6.20-16-generic

Hi.

Running a Thinkpad T41p, suspend to RAM locks the machine with the generikernel (exclusively).

This appears to be a build-specific bug. Running linux-image-2.6.20-16-lowlatency (as originally intended)
fixes the issue.

Traced the acpi callback sequence: linux-image-2.6.20-16-generic freezes at
echo "mem" >/sys/power/state in /etc/acpi/sleep.sh

Woah, should I have mentioned that I had to upgrade to gutsy in order to
experience this? Possibly. No issues on feisty.

I can reproduce the same issue with ThinkPad Z60m. It works with linux-image-2.6.20-16-lowlatency but does not with linux-image-2.6.22-12-generic. In addition with linux-image-2.6.20-16-lowlatency I must not be running googleearth, otherwise I experience the same freeze.
