Bug Description

Binary package hint: mozilla-thunderbird

This is a heads-up report because I believe it is an upstream thunderbird bug. I have also verified the bug on Fedora 7.

When working against a Cyrus-IMAPd-2.3.9 server, thunderbird hangs when retrieving headers of newly received messages. If thunderbird is opened without new messages then everything is ok until a new message arrives after which it will hang.

The application has to be closed with a "Force Quit" from the window menu.

Looks like this might be the same as bug #150571

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You reported this bug a while ago and there hasn't been any activity in it recently. We were wondering is this still an issue for you? Can you try with latest Ubuntu release? Thanks in advance.
Can you please report your the version of thunderbird which is effected?

I can confirm this bug in the current version of Ubuntu (hardy) & Thunderbird. Frequently (about once a day) thunderbird freezes after downloading IMAP message headers. If I force quit it and start it again, I can load the messages fine.
