Bug Description

Binary package hint: totem-gstreamer

When I try to play a .mov file in Totem using the gstreamer backend, the video playback is choppy.

Here is my command line output.

user@computer:~$ totem --debug /home/user/path/movie.mov
/bin/sh: /usr/bin/esd: not found
sh: jackd: not found
sh: jackd: not found
user@computer:~$

I hope this problem can be fixed.

Thank you for your bug. What version of Ubuntu do you use? Do you get that with any mov file? Does "gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=file:///path/to/video" have the same bug?

Sorry, I am using Gutsy beta, as far as I can tell any *.mov file is choppy, and the output of that command was as follows, and the video was still choppy.

user@computer:~$ gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=file:///path/to/video.mov

Looks like a gstreamer bug then. Could you get a log using "GST_DEBUG=3 GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=file:///path/to/video &>log" and attach it to the bug? Could you also run "dpkg -l gstreamer*" and copy that to a comment?

I ran GST_DEBUG=3 GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 gst-launch-0.10 playbin uri=file:///path/to/video &>log. Of course I replaced /path/to/video with the right path.

I can see the log file when I click on it, are you sure you can't?
I'll post it here just to make sure.

what I mean is that there is no debug information in that log, try running "GST_DEBUG=3 GST_DEBUG_NO_COLOR=1 gst-launch-0.10 playbin" you should have an idea of what sort of lines should be there
