X session crashes when switching workspace and video playing

Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Playing a video in mplayer or totem and treying to switch to another workspace either with the mouse wheel or the pager in the lower panel crashes the session. Using an ATI X600 mobility with the oipen source ati driver.

I got something very similar, but for me it only crashes when I have the window with the video is between the workspaces (note I got the effect that makes workspace switching smooth, so a window between the workspaces can be seen from both)

I got a ATI Radeon 9800 graphics card. I also have not installed it's closed driver.

The problem doesn't occur any more.

I still use Open source driver, but I switched to the 'Emerald Theme Manager' (green diamond icon). And not the default Ubuntu effects. I've got idea if this is the reason it's working fine now.
