Bug Description

Binary package hint: kde-systemsettings

kde-systemsettings does not provide any method to disable strigi (at least, I couldn't find any).

Rationale: Users should be given a graphical method to temporarily disable indexing, without having to deinstall strigi.

To enable and disable Strigi, open up Konqueror and type in strigi:/ and press enter. This is how and where Strigi is controlled in KDE 3.

If you think this issue needs to be pursued further, I urge you to reopen this report wth further information. Thank you.

Also note, Strigi isn't being provided by default at this time.

Changed in kde-systemsettings:
status: New → Invalid

OK, this didn't work last I checked but I can't reproduce now as I don't have strigi installed. Also, when I opened this report, strigi was being installed by default.

I agree that this bug can be left at "INVALID" for now.
