Bug Description

It would be useful to use the service RollApp (www.rollapp.com) also on the browser of Ubuntu Touch.
The service uses Chrome / Chromium as the default browser to virtualize OpenSource programs (OpenOffice, Stellarium, etc.).
It could be a temporary solution pending the complete corvengence.

If I understand correctly, rollapp runs desktop apps in the cloud and offers a browser-based thin client. Does that require anything specific from the browser (i.e. a custom plugin or extension), or will it work with standard web technologies out of the box?

In any case, the public mailing list (https://lists.launchpad.net/ubuntu-phone/) is better suited than a bug report for this kind of suggestion. Closing this bug as invalid, let’s continue this conversation on the ML!

Re-opening as it seems a simple UA override is enough to make rollapp work well in webbrowser-app on desktop.

Olivier ,
Have you tried your changing, also on the Phone's Web App?

@Gabriele: this change doesn’t affect phones, this user agent override is going to be used on desktop only.

As for making it work on the phone, I just tried it, and I was greeted with the following message:

« We’re working on bringing rollApp to Android »

My understanding is that they don’t support mobile platforms yet. Once they do, this should work in webbrowser-app too.

@ Olivier
No, actually on my Android tablet it works well.
Even if you look at the video presentation (https://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=0kW-sgBKtZI) works on iPad, and Android devices.
the limit would seem only the use of Chrome

cheers
