Bug Description

Binary package hint: openoffice.org

Using feisty, from a fresh install with all (universe and multiverse too) update applied, when launching any openoffice application, it only shows the splash screen for an instant and crashes with segmentation fault and WARNING **: Unknown error forking main binary / abnormal early exit

I have a nvidia card, and was using nvidia-glx driver as proposed by feisty, I read this crash could be caused by openGL set to yes in /etc/openoffice/soffice.sh, so I tried to set it to auto and no, which changed nothing.

I also removed the proprietary driver but it didn't fix anything either.

5 minutes a new update for OOo popped up in update-manager. after applying it, the crashs still occur.

I tried once more all I did before with these new versions, and it still segfault at launch.

What theme are you using - can you reproduce the problem with the human theme ?

if not this may be a duplicate of bug#131526
