Bug Description

Today I install gutsy beta and I was directly able to select 1052x864 resolution while in fiesty I have to install xserver-xorg-video-intel in order to get that resolution so I was happy but after 2 reboot the system automatically goes to 1024x768 resolution and till now it is still the same and I tried everything I know to get 1052x864 resolution but in vain like installing xserver-xorg-video-intel and then renaming from i810 to intel in xorg.conf but in vain.

My display card is inbuilt Intel 845G in Asus Motherboard P4GE-MX-UAYZ

This is my second comment in this thread.

Today I installed Kubuntu beta 7.10 and the same resolution problem occurs as it occurs in ubuntu beta 7.10 but I realised the reason behind it and that is my resolution changes permanently from 1052x864 to 1024x768 only when I change my monitor driver from "plug n play" to "Samsung Samtron 56V"

Plug n play is giving my desired resolution but Samsung Samtron 56V which is supposed to be my real monitor driver is not giving my resolution and my monitor can support the resolution of 1052x864 very comfortably as it is the resolution I use in Windows.
