edubuntu kde depends on gpaint rather than kolourpaint

Bug Description

The Gutsy metapackage edubuntu-desktop-kde depends on gpaint (GNU Paint) rather than the KDE-native kolourpaint. The two programs serve very similar purposes, and in my opinion, Kolourpaint is the easier to use of the two. This isn't exactly a "bug", but it is pretty inconsistent with KDE, seeing as GNU Paint is a GNOME application.

I confirm this nuisance. Not a bug actually but I agree gpaint is a clear inconsistency in a kde metapackage so I confirm it.

edubuntu-desktop-kde 1.47 (gutsy)

From http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/edubuntu-desktop-kde

It also depends on:
dia-gnome
denemo (which is GTK)
gpaint
pessulus (lockdown editor for GNOME)
gobby is also gtk

Kolorpaint is in universe and I'm presuming would need promoting to end up in Edubuntu (even in the kde package). We can't do that for hardy at this late stage as we are in beta freeze.

Are there replacements for the others that we could look at for intrepid?

However edubuntu-addon-kde doesn't. When are these used?

I think edubuntu-desktop-kde is to be installed in place of the
regular edubuntu-desktop metapackage, but edubuntu-addon-kde is to be
installed alongside it. Why they aren't one in the same is beyond me.
Krita probably isn't appropriate for Edubuntu, it's more of a
professional product. Kolourpaint seems like it would make a nice
candidate if it can get into main in 8.10 or 9.04.
