Looking through the logs, I'd say that dkms package (in universe) probably mucked things up for you.

Yes I believe.

I did finally remove the ill dkms package by disabling the .prerm file
on the old package and could install about 350 other trailing packages
from the first run (the grphical installer had stopped at libc6ao...).
Then had to stop inetd for tftpd-hpa replacement and finally ltsp-server
and ltsp-server-standalone did fit the pie.
