Bug Description

I'm experiencing hard locks on my ACER Aspire 9411...

I'm using 2.6.22-13-generic kernel, nvidia-glx-new (100.14.19) installed with restricted-manager and I have compiz enabled...

My graphic card is a nvidia GeForce Go 7300 and wireless card is ipw3945ABG...

There's not a way to reproduce this locks, they happens randomly, while browsing internet, I have always amule or azureus downloading, and sometimes rhytmbox playing local music or a radio stream...

When the locks happen I can still move the mouse, but I can't interact with the desktop... after a few seconds the screen gets black and the only thing I can do is to shut down the system with the ALT+R.Sist+REISUB trick...

looking in the system logs I always find a lot of messages from the kernel, but I don't know if they depends on the lock or on the REISUB sequence I gave...

I will attach my log...

thank you

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Can you also attach the information outlined here:

Also, care to try updating to the latest published kernel (2.6.22-14) and verify this is still an issue. Can you also comment on that last known version where this wasn't an issue? Thanks in advance!

It looks like that new 2.6.22-14 kernel doesn't locks...

I will send more detailed information and logs if I will experience hard locks again...
