Bug Description

Hi.
This is gutsy with all the latest updates, running the latest Kernel (Linux cave 2.6.22-13-generic #1 SMP Thu Oct 4 17:18:44 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux).
Until two or three (not sure) days ago, suspend to ram just worked quite fine. The system behaved completely correct. But now, however, I am experiencing big problems with sending my laptop to standby. It won't even go into suspend mode. I can't do anything but restart the whole system.
This system is running with ATI RADEON XPRESS 200M. I tried both, "ati" and "fglrx". Neither of them works with suspend.
I am not sure if it was kernel 2.6.22-12 that it worked with, but I only have -13 and -12 remaining on my laptop. I testet both and none works properly.

I found this strange since it once worked.

As always, I am very eager to getting this fixed.
Just tell me what further information you need.

(I found quite a lot of "suspend" problems for gutsy. I didn't find any issue like this, so I reported a new bug.)

regards

Nothing changed with "Linux cave 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Wed Oct 10 06:00:47 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux". :(
Yesterday it fell asleep correctly, but turning it on again didn't work (at least the screen didn't return).
I tried it again with the latest kernel, with "ati" and "fglrx". Both did not work. The laptop couldn't even fall asleep (suspend to ram) properly.

Err. Any suggestions?
Suspend to RAM became very important to me.

Confirmed on a Dell Latitude D600. Screen turns black on resume; system requires a hard boot to use again. IMHO this will make Ubuntu look pretty bad to new users.

Ok after latest updates it works one of ten times, but the issue still exists.
So this was NOT a fix to this problem.
Most of the time it is still the same problem.

Hi.
I think this is somehow "fixed".
Installing uswsusp helps with latest kernel.
Suspend to RAM then works smoothly.

Sorry, I forgot to update this bugreport.
