Bug Description
from the 2005-04-07 i386 DVD, installed on an amd64 host. The gnome desktop
starts with a 1920x1200 resolution, but /etc/X11/xorg.conf is configured as
1920x1080.
[ddcprobe.sh in xresprobe drops the highest resolution returned by ddcprobe, which may make sense for crts but is not appropriate for lcds. xresprobe detects lcds by looking for "digital" in ddcprobe output, which is not there for lcds using analog connections. We need a better mechanism for detecting an lcd in this case.]
