sound outgoing messages not working

Binary package hint: pidgin

after I switched off the sound and switched it on again, outgoing messages do not give a sound.

In conversation Window sounds are enabled
In Buddy list sounds are not muted
In Preferences sounds are "always" enabled and "Message sent" is marked, "Test" gives sound ("Default")
