Bug Description

Just installed Gutsy RC on a Dell Latitude X1, using Intel graphics.

When I tried to configure my WLAN, nm-applet opened the password dialog behind other windows (Firefox). This is very confusing, because a normal user will think that there is no reaction at all.

I can confirm this. When I connect to my campus' secure wireless network, the WPA enterprise login window opens behind other windows. I've failed to notice it on several occasions and have been left wondering what was going on with my wireless.

Confirmed...this has almost always been the case on my Gutsy and Hardy notebooks.

This happens to me regularly, even with Intrepid. Can't we get some attention on this one? It's often very confusing even for a non-normal user. nm-applet sits there spinning as though it's trying to connect when it's really waiting for me to confirm this hidden password dialog with -- get this -- a network that's already in my list and the password already filled out. Why does it bother with the dialog at all in that case?

is this still an issue in intrepid/jaunty? If so, does the bheaviour change when enabling/disabling desktop effects (aka compiz)?
