screen resolution changes at computer restart

Bug Description

I am using Ubuntu 7.10. Nvidia restricted drivers...Every time I restart the computer it changes to the highest resolution possible...I have to return it to the right resolution using the screens and graphics tool.

Thank you for submitting this bug report. Have you tried using the resolution tool in System -> Preferences -> Resolution and selecting "Make default for this computer only"?

I'm not sure what you mean by that since there is no resolution under preferences......To be more specific the resolution it switches to is higher then my monitor is capable of.

Apologies, it's "Screen Resolution" not "Resolution" in preferences. If you don't have anything listed, try pressing alt+F2 and typing gnome-display-properties.
