Bug Description

Binary package hint: scanbuttond

I installed scanbuttond as a workaraound for this bug: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/sane-backends/+bug/85488

scanbuttond crashes every time I run it. I have a Canon LIDE 25 scanner.
xsane can get a preview image (at least once until bug #85488 kick in), so the scanner is hooked up ok.

Will attach crash report, and lsusb output.

I think encountered the same bug. I have fixed it on my setup, it is a one line patch that I sent to the original author, and that I detail on my page: http://colas.nahaboo.net/Hacks/ScanButtond

The crash occurs if an usb device has an empty list of configs.

The issue that you reported should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD development release - Maverick Meerkat. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu.
