"sleep 1" in init.d script for restart may not be enough...

Bug Description

Binary package hint: icecast2

Basically, from time to time when I execute /etc/init.d/icecast2 restart and icecast is running the restart command will error out on the start-stop-daemon --start command with the output that "icecast2 is already running" (you need to remove the --quiet tag to see this). Extending the sleep time to 2 seconds between the two start-stop-daemon commands seems to fix this race condition.

Is this symptom still reproducible in 8.10?

I have this problem as well, icecast2-2.3.1-6ubuntu1 (Ubuntu 8.04, from hardy/universe)

It seems like it is the same problem as reported in the Debian version (solved there):
