Bug Description

I had a new installation of Ubuntu 7.10 RC and I'd some problems with the resolution.

Firstly, the installation finished without problems and everething run OK. But: I opened the tool that can configure the X.org and my desktop got resolution 1600x1200 (the tool still said that I've 1280x1024). So I had edited the resolution throw the old dialog for changing of resolution and my desktop got the right parametres.

The problem is: the login screen still has the resolution 1600x1200 and I can't edit it by a graphical tool.

I've Eizo L568 (it was detected right).

Summary: 1/ by running the tool for configuration of the X started the problems (most probably); 2/ resolution of the desktop is possible to set throw the dialog Resolution (or something like it); 3/ resolution of the login screen isn't possible to set.
