Firefox freezes when home page is loaded

Bug Description

Binary package hint: firefox

Firefox freezes when my home page (Yahoo.com) is loaded. Mouse pointer moves but unable to select anything other than close which is a forced close. System worked until recent update (not sure which one caused problem)
Running Gutsy 2.6.22.14

Discovered that this is NOT a Firefox bug in the strictest sense. The freeze occurred because the update manager removed my flash installation. After reinstalling Flash 9, Firefox returned to normal behavior. I hope someone will look at this issue since IMHO, Firefox should not freeze up when Flash is not available. It should provide a "Flash required to properly display contents of this page" message (or something similar).

This applies to youtube.com as well. Firefox freezes for 60 to 90 seconds on load of these pages. For me these prolems surfaced after the last flashplugin-nonfree update just before release of Gutsy. I have reinstalled the nonfree flash several times without it solving this bug.

Hey guys, can you confirm if this is still happening in Firefox 2.0.0.12?

I believe that is the latest version in gutsy.
