Bug Description
Binary package hint: linux-rt
A few days ago (I don't remember exactly when), after a few kernel updates on Gutsy, suddenly the nvidia driver stopped working under the linux-rt kernel. Before this update, everything had worked fine. When I now boot with the rt-kernel, Ubuntu starts in the safe-graphics mode (or something like that), falling back on the vesa driver.
Two points:
1. Most important: why doesn't the nvidia driver work with the rt-kernel? It should.
2. And IF Ubuntu really for some reason can't initialize the nvidia driver, it should fall back on the opensource nv driver, not on the vesa driver.

This probably is a duplicate of this bug: https:/ /bugs.launchpad .net/ubuntu/ +source/ linux-restricte d-modules- 2.6.22/ +bug/130837
Some extra info: d-modules- 2.6.22- 12-rt is the last one that still works good. Both linux-restricte d-modules- 2.6.22- 13-rt and linux-restricte d-modules- 2.6.22- 14-rt do not work anymore.
