No sound after upgrading from Feisty to Gusty

Bug Description

=> After upgrading from Feisty to Gutsy beta, my sound stopped working.

=> When I try to use XMMS I get the following error message:

Please check that:
your soundcard is configured properly.
You have the correct output plugin selected.
No other program is blocking the soundcard.

=> I tried changing the output plugins and no affect.

=> I went to the Volume Control Preferences and changed from "HDA Nvidia (Also mixer)" to Realtek ALC885 (OSS mixer)" and that didn't fix the issue

=> I went to System -> Preferences -> Sound. I clicked on Test (when it's already set to AutoDetect) and nothing happens. Changed the device from HDA Nvidia to Realtek and that didn't solve the issue.

=> When I upgraded Gutsy to RC, I do hear a sound (the usual Ubuntu login sound) but after logging in, the sound stopped working.

=> I've also tried to reinstall alsa and installed pulseaudio but with no luck

Oh and I would also like to add that when I boot up and it gets to the login screen, it plays the sound where I login successfully. It's not the usual small drum roll.

I've also uploaded the udev after a reboot.
