Bug Description
Just got my laptop and this problem with with the current Gutsy.
The sound on my Lenovo 3000 N200 laptop was not working by default.
I had to add the line:
options snd-hda-intel model=lenovo
to /etc/modprobe.
This should work by default.
Slightly off-topic:
I had unfortunately left the built-in microphone unmuted from trying to get some form of output before I found this solution. So I was greeted with a very very very loud high pitched noise from the feedback. I had to painfully endure this until I could access volume control to mute the microphone. Plugging my headset into the jacks on the laptop didn't turn the speakers off to stop this feedback while I tried to reach volume control. I guess that's also a bug which still isn't fixed for Gutsy.
