The same for me. It started to happen after upgrade from Feisty to Gutsy (i.e. to Thunderbird 2). It happens with POP3 as well as IMAP accounts -- when new message arrives the program freezes.

Yes, its the same bug. I removed my thunderbird profile and the problem was resolved. But when I installed my extensions and theme it began to freeza again. I repeated the same, but this time I didn't install maximize mesage panel and my habitual theme phoenity. I don't have the problem now. You have these things installed?

No, I do not have any of these extentions. And even after removal of all old mail TB freezes when spam mail arrives.

Hi,

please submit the crash report by (double) clicking on it (e.g. using gnome file manager). Otherwise, we won't be able to process it efficiently. The .crash files can be found in the /var/crash directory.

Thanks,

Using thunderbird 2.0.0.14 (20080505) on ubuntu hardy heron 8.04 AMD64 (desktop delivery).
Proc : intel core2duo
RAM : 3 gig
/var/crash directory is empty.

PS : it is working fine when receiving imap messages.

Hi, Just need to confirm that this bug is not a duplicate of bug #58008 since it seems similar. Has anyone investigated the fixes suggested on that bug (such as disabling audio notifications)?

We are sorry that we do not always have the capacity to review all reported bugs in a timely manner. This bug was reported a long time ago and there have been many changes in Ubuntu and Thunderbird since that time.

Do you still see a problem related to the one that was reported in a currently supported version of Ubuntu?

Please let us know if you do otherwise this bug report can be left to expire in approximately 60 days time.

Thank you for helping make Ubuntu better.
