Network upgrade fails

Bug Description

When performing network desktop upgrade from 7.04 to 7.10, upgrade failed with:

  File "/tmp/tmp7JNrzL/DistUpgradeControler.py", line 733, in _rewriteAptPeriodic
    logging.debug("no file '%s'" % name)

SystemError: unknown opcode

2007-10-14 08:28:10,306 ERROR failed to import apport python module, can't report bug: No module named apport.python_hook

This message is from the end of the /var/log/dist-upgrade/main.log file.

Have you tried this with another machine, and it reproduce the same error? Also, have you tried the network upgrade with Hardy Heron?
