virtual box not working after 7.10 upgrade

Binary package hint: virtualbox-ose

Virtualbox doesnt work I have an existing XP virtual machine, when i run it I get a VBox status code: -1908 (VERR_VM_DRIVER_NOT_INSTALLED) error message, it tells me to run '/etc/init.d/vboxdrv setup' but this comes back with an error.

Virtual box worked fine in 7.04 out of the box, it was very straight forward. After 7.10 install I found not all the features were there and tried to install extras modules (I had a launcher so that I didnt have to run the virtual machine from the manager, that didnt work) . Basically I've been fiddleing with Synaptic. Now no matter what I try to install and uninstall it comes up with the same thing.

Perhaps this is not a Bug and apologies in advance but I just dont seem to be able to get a working install and like I say it workied first time in 7.04 and I had no problems whatsoever.

You have to install virtualbox-ose-modules-generic (or ..-server), then it should work. (make sure you have the latest updates)

I'm marking it as duplicate of bug 152405. Feel free to undo it, if I've misunderstood your problem.
