upgrade 7.04 -> 7.10 impossible

Bug Description

Binary package hint: update-manager

The following windows pop up right after launching update manager 7.04 -> 7.10:
Getting upgrade prerequisites failed

The system was unable to get the prerequisites for the upgrade. The upgrade will abort now and restore the original system state.

Please report this as a bug against the 'update-manager' package and include the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ in the bugreport.

This is reproducible, unfortunately...

The PC is a Dell Inspiron 8100, that runs under 7.04.

Thanks for your bugreport.

Did you had something else running (like synaptic, apt-get, aptitude, adept) when you started the upgrade? Does this happens always for you?

Nothing else was running (to my knowledge), except Firefox. This happened 3x on this PC, while on 2 others computers, everything went as smoothly as possible when I performed the same (apparent) upgrade.

Following your mail, I just tried again, after closing Firefox, and... it appears to work fine (right now happily downloading the upgrades)!?
I am not getting it, but I guess this report should thus considered closed...
