Bug Description

Binary package hint: compiz

Log in with the command line. Edit your ~/.bash_profile, and add the following line :
export KDEWM=/usr/bin/compiz --replace
Log out from the command line.

Now login within KDE. Everything should be fine, except maybe an error message about kde-window-decorator. Logout from KDE, and re-login with the same user. Now the window stack should be corrupted, exactly the same thing that occured with bug #147943.

I did not test if the same problem also occurs with Gnome.

My configuration :
Kubuntu Gutsy Gibbon with latest updates, 32 bits.
AMD Athlon 64 3600+
Motherboard Asus M2N-SLI Deluxe
Graphic card : Asus GeForce 7900 GS.

Kernel :
Linux pcathlon64 2.6.22-14-generic #1 SMP Sun Oct 14 23:05:12 GMT 2007 i686 GNU/Linux

Compiz :

Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. The issue that you reported is one that should be reproducible with the live environment of the Desktop CD of the development release - Hardy Heron. It would help us greatly if you could test with it so we can work on getting it fixed in the next release of Ubuntu. You can find out more about the development release at http://www.ubuntu.com/testing/ . Thanks again and we appreciate your help.
