Built-in microphone on Inspiron 1420 does not work. Microphone is next to webcam.

I can confirm this in the 1420 without the webcam. The microphones are present, do not work in either the Gutsy i386 or amd64 install. They worked in that "other" operating system before I imaged and removed it.

Would be really good to get this working ... I was recently subscribed to the UVC mailing list, and from a post I saw there, this could be a problem with UVC (webcam) module loading before usb-audio or something like that.
