if you've been installing all the updates then it is correct. The version upgrade is from a development to production version. It probably has nothing to install as no updates were released in the day or so.

Changed in update-manager:
status: New → Invalid

I also used adept to upgrade from 7.10rc to 7.10 and recieved the same msg after numerous attempts ( power failures, crashes etc.) as the comment above states that means that our systems are now "official" 7.10 systems?!

See also #154740, which describes the same issue. This bug is certainly NOT invalid! The theory of success is not proven by one success, but invalidated by one failure. I use(d) a Kubuntu Gutsy development version for a month or so, and regularly updated my system, every one or two days. Before the error message comes up, Adept does a normal system update, and *afterwards* tells me that there is a new distribution version. Of course there can't be any updates left, but then the expected behaviour would be to go on with the distribution update anyway instead of aborting it. Btw - what's the explanation? I used Ubuntu development versions before and never saw a last "explicit" version upgrade taking place - because I had had the new version already.

I have used the Gutsy since beta and I have updated it daily using
the Adept Manager.
Since some days Adept Manager shows a button "Version Upgrade"
that starts the "Upgrade Wizard" that starts the Distribution Upgrade
tool, unfortunately this operation fails with the error:
"Your system is up-to-date" and each time I start the Adept Manager
then that "Version Upgrade" pops out.

Same here, Adept Manager shows a button "Version Upgrade" then fails with "Your system is up-to-date" message.

Hello there. I remember somehow fixing the problem using the Konsole. I
don't remember specifics, it was a few months ago, but I do remember that in
Konsole it gives you an error message that doesn't show when you try to use
adept. Try typing "sudo apt-get install updates" then peruse the forums for
solutions to the error message given. Beyond that, I wish I could help you.
(I run Kubuntu 7.10 as well.)

Hi. Similar to bajr1337. Problem solved by typing the command "sudo apt-get install update" in the konsole terminal.
