PS3: Alternate Install CD is missing linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-14-cell package

Bug Description

I'm trying to install the PS3 PPC version of Gutsy from the Alternate Install CD. I downloaded it from the torrent site... the file's name is ubuntu-7.10-alternate-powerpc+ps3.iso .

Most of the way through the install, the task "Install the base system" fails because it can't install linux-cell. By using the console, I've managed to track down the problem. Linux-cell can't install because it depends on linux-image-cell, which depends on linux-ubuntu-modules-2.6.22-14-cell, which is non-existent in the pool directory and in the Gutsy packages list on the alternate installer CD. It seems that this package was missed in the CD build process?

I haven't tried any other CD images (Kubuntu, Xubuntu, or the Live CD installer) yet.

I've seen the same issue on my PS3. Installation of the Desktop variant of Ubuntu 7.10 fails too but with another error. I'll open a case.

Also missing: linux-restricted-modules-2.6.22....-cell
Restricted Manager fails to start from Xubuntu-Gutsy because of that!

I am not able to setup any wlan/wifi connection - but i can see my ssid name with "iwlist scan" command!

Closing this bug now as it refers to Gutsy. I don't think the problem exists in Intrepid. If you find the issue in Intrepid please reopen this report.
