I am currently upgrading to Ubuntu version 7.10. This error came up.

Part of a really ugly partial upgrade on 8.04a1, (64-bit) @ 2007-12-12, 9:14am EST, running on a Gateway MX6431 laptop, (memory upgraded to 2.0GB, but otherwise stock). Whole list of crashes / errors thrown as of this report, (more coming as the auto-reporters fire up):

Also affects latest bugfix/release gnome-applets 2.21.4-0ubuntu1, confirmed on fresh installation 8.04 Alpha 3 i386
