after my isp lease is due to be renewed isc-dhcp-client does not seem to be renewing, have to take interface down on internet and up again before a new external ip is assigned.

i am using xenial as a gateway, having problems maintaining an internet connection without having to manuallly if down and up the internet interface.

Downgraded to 4.3.3-5ubuntu7 and the same behaviour occurs. Do not seem to see anything in logs, I take down interface and bring it up to get a new ip. network cards are intel 82541GI on a dell poweredge 2850.
