Cannot calculate upgrade to Gusty Gibbon

Bug Description

When going through the Update Manager to do a system upgrade, I get the error, "Could not calculate the upgrade"

I've maybe the same problem...
During update preparation I've a message (translation from french..... impossible to calculate the update)
I send my logs as an attachement

I was having the same problem when I attempted to upgrade *K*ubuntu on my Dell Inspiron 8600 notebook using the 'alternate CD'. Apparently the upgrade script has a problem removing the xubuntu-desktop package. I removed it myself and re-ran the upgrade script and, so far, it seems to be running fine. I'm keeping my fingers crossed.

There isn't really sufficient to determine what is going on in this particular bug report. Xplorer - it would be helpful if you were to add all the files in /var/log/dist-upgrade/ as separate attachments as each one is important. Thanks in advance!

tzorg's issue seems to be one with corrupt packages and sbrown hasn't included any log files.
