Bug Description
Binary package hint: udev
Gutsy LiveCD is unable to locate and mount CD but fallbacks to busybox instead. This bug seems to be very similar to https:/
/init: /init: 1: cannot open /dev/sr0: No such file
Unable to find a medium containing a live file system
Feisty LiveCD used to boot with no problem on the same machine. Gutsy also runs fine after upgrading from Feisty (and not using it's LiveCD).
Please try this on Ubuntu 8.04 and see if you still have this issue.
