unable to install gstreamer 0.10 ugly plugins

Please try

sudo apt-get install gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly

and if it doesn't install, post the output here.

I am going to try a re-install and re-check the media again see if it was just a bad install

Got it installed found out i needed to go to software sources and get that working and the media player did the rest
