Bug Description

Running the install routine of the Ubuntu 7.10 on PS3 the installation fails at 82% with error message that the mirror server "releases" could not be reached / connected.

My first intention was that the Network was no up. This was true, I upped it manually and entered an IP-address but the error persists.

I have the very same issue, network is working. sudo apt-get update works.
running "killall choose-mirror" would make the installer continue, but gets you into livecd mode.

Restarting and entering "/boot/vmlinux initrd=/boot/initrd.img root=/dev/sda1" in the kboot promt
will give you no initfs image found (or something like that).

It did not help editing sources.list.
No matter what I wrote, it did not make the install progress.

It seems to happen when selecting swedish location.
It went well when selecting us-english (usa) as location

This seems very old - it refers to 7.10. Intrepid is the current best version for PS3, if the problem persists with that please reopen this. (Note there is no desktop variant of Intrepid for PS3, only alternate).

Changed in ubuntu-ps3-port:
status: New → Won't Fix
Changed in ubiquity:
status: New → Invalid
